About Beka's House
Rebekah "Beka" Stewart died in a battle against her eating disorder while attending Moody Bible Institute in 1998. This was a result of her brief battle with Anorexia and Bulimia which are two eating disorders that many girls and women (some boys and men) are suffering from today. Either one can kill you, but combining them both is a death sentence. We are finding out it is a secret problem of dynamic proportions, which is why we want to share this with as many people as possible in an effort to alert them that young girls involved in this become addicted and cannot stop on their own without getting professional help. We did not fully understand this when Beka finally admitted her problem to us.
Our hope and vision is to inform young women and men of the dangers and ultimate perils that eating disorders can cause. It is our sincere prayer and goal to educate and inform parents and their children about eating disorders so that they will not endure the same pain and consequences that we have experienced with our own daughter's plight with anorexia and bulimia.
At the present time we are focused on education and prevention of eating disorders thru personal presentations and telephone counseling. It is our desire have the funding necessary to educate young people and adults about the dangers of anorexia and bulimia.
Today, Beka's House is listed as a non-profit organization and is in the early planning stages for prevention and counseling of eating disorders. If you would like to make a donation, please click here for more details.
